Various blank forms are available from the slots at the front of the Architecture office. Help yourself.
Whenever you change your address or your phone number, please stop by the Architecture office to fill out an Address Change form. To permit the office to release your address or phone number to other students who want to reach you, please submit a "Waiver - Student Information" form. Otherwise, university regulations do not permit the school to release any information.
The Architecture and Planning building is open to architecture students 24 hours a day. For access when the building is locked from 5:00 pm to 8:30 am, an electronic chip in your student card (plus your access code) will open the exterior doors. To obtain a key that opens the computer labs and the construction lab, see Eric Guile (the Faculty's financial administrator) in Room HA6, show him your student card, and pay a $15 fee. $10 will be refunded when you eventually turn in the key at the end of your studies. The non-refundable fee to replace a lost key is $5.
To open an exterior door:
1. Wave your student card in front of the keypad
2. Move the card away, then enter your four-digit access code
To register for a university computer account, obtain your Dalhousie NetID and activate your Dalhousie email address.

The Faculty of Architecture and Planning maintains a collection of audio-visual equipment, laboratory equipment, computer accessories, books, etc., and offers limited borrowing privileges that enable registered students to have access to this equipment. To be eligible to borrow items, sign the Faculty's borrowing agreement form, which is available from the Architecture office. Borrowers are responsible for all items signed out in their name: to return borrowed items on time, to pay fines on overdue accounts, and to replace lost or damaged items. Borrowing privileges, service facilities, and/or further registration at the university are withheld from a student who owes equipment and/or fines to the Faculty.
All rooms in the Architecture building (including the Green Room in the west studio) are reserved for classes and cannot be used as overflow studio space. If you wish to use a room temporarily during the day, when no classes are scheduled, ask someone in the Architecture office to reserve it for you in the Faculty's Room Booking binder.
Some part-time work for students is available in the school: lab assistants, resource centre assistants, exhibition installers, research assistants, etc. If you're interested, keep an eye on the bulletin board or submit your name to Martha Barnstead.
