All students in the Masters Program are required to complete a work term. This normally occurs between the first and second academic years. Co-op work terms generally begin after May 1. Normally the hiring activities run from January through April. The actual start and end date of the work term is negotiated between the student and the employer.
Work terms must be 500 hours, over 12 or more weeks in order to satisfy the requirements of the program. Positions should expose students to the planning of the scientific, aesthetic and orderly disposition of land, resources, facilities and services with a view to securing the physical, economic and social efficiency, health and well-being of urban and rural communities. Appropriate placements are typically in government planning offices, consulting firms, development companies, research centres, or NGOs. Students may find work placements in Canada or abroad.
We also advertise part-time, summer and recent graduate positions.

The employer can specify the application material they wish to receive and set a deadline. A resume and cover letter are almost always requested. Employers may also ask for samples of written or graphic work, grades, or a complete portfolio. The students will typically forward their applications directly to the employer. This can be done by the method that suits you: Canada Post, fax or e-mail.
We will collect and forward the applications when requested.
We can assist you to arrange interviews with students at your office or on our campus. We also coordinate interviews by telephone, or video conference at your cost. Contact us to discuss the dates and times and and we will do the rest.
We can also make job offers on your behalf. This can work best for you if there are several students that you would be willing to hire.
